In this gallery, we have a mixture of subjects, starting with a medley of photographs of Gosport Borough Athletic FC 1954-55, the Withers family Butcher’s shops in 1935, then views taken from the Pier at Lee on Solent circa 1929-30, followed by Fairy 3D MKIII aircraft at Lee slipway in 1926 arriving back from a race to Cairo and the Cape and back. Lee on Solent High Street and Pier Street appear as they were in the 1930s, followed by a view of crowds on Lee beach watching the spectacle of the viking ship Hugin in 1949. Lee Tower can be seen decorated for the Coronation. Fowlie & Popple’s Outfit pose for the camera in 1909: possibly in the farmland towars Warsash. Stubbington Village in the 1920s precedes a splendid picture of The Crescent, Alverstoke circa the 1900s, followed by Alverstoke Crossroads complete with a postbox in the middle of the road. Alverstoke Workhouse is decorated for the coronation. There are two charabanc outings from the 1920s, Tom Parker’s fleet of horse drawn milk carts and Co-Op vans from the 1960s. Lastly is a picture of AVRO 504 Ks.
